As a BB food, is sushi a good food or bad food? Obviously, the fish is good, but does the white rice add too many carbs to the party?
Just curious. I love it, but don't eat it often. They are putting in a new sushi joint right next to my office and I thought that might be a good alternative for some lunches.

Of course it's hard!! If it were easy, everybody would do it.

When I'm being good about my diet.... I forego the rice and have them use daicon radish instead (shredded white radish). I just ask for a seafood salad - its radish, cucumber and various kinds of raw fish with sesame oil and seeds in it. Pretty healthy, really.
Sushi is the only food that I really crave.
I may have to go have some now for dinner, that you've mentioned it...

I can't imagine craving sushi. I crave a different genre (or 2) I can crave mexican, italian, ice cream, a good burger..... but chunks of raw fish? Where I come from, we call that "bait" Sushi not only tastes bad, it's a texture thing.

Well, I think Sushi is beautiful, and it definitely is a good nutritional source. See weed is high in protein, high in vitamins from the B complex and high in fiber. A Saki roll has raw salmon for example, which is high in protein, high in vitamins and great source of omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids. Akami roll has tuna, high in protein high in omega acids, Kappa maki has cucumber or avocado full of vitamins and polyunsaturated fats. At the end, I think its a great food, great taste, great environment, and healthy as nothing else!

I can't question the nutritional value of sushi. It just tastes like an ass sandwich and has the texture of a worn inner tube.

I love some good sushi. At one place I go to, they basically put chunks of different raw fish on top of some rice, so you end up eating more fish and less rice than your typical sushi roll. I also like the seaweed salad which is also good for you. If you want lots of carbs then regular sushi rolls are great. I usually like the tuna and salmon and some eel. The fish roe is pretty good but it's definitely a texture thing and it's very fishy. They basically pop in your mouth and usually wrapped in a seaweed roll with no rice. Sashimi is good because you get a big chunk of raw fish on top of a little lump of rice which is good for people watching their carbs.
