The kids are back in school, and the sickness they bring home has already begun.
My wife has been saying that we need to eat more fruits and veggies because that will make us slightly alkaline, and "bugs" can't survive....... yeah, okay.

But my question is about muscular growth, which ph does it thrive in?

Don't know if there is anything you can do about muscle PH other than decrease it from lactate after exercise.

There's an article on this in the new MD. An alkaline environment is better for muscle growth according to the author, and your wife is right - it can be achieved by eating more fruits and veggies. Supplementing with potassium can also help. The article also said that high protein intake can lead to an acidic ph, so I'm trying this now - more veggies and 50 mg potassium a day, and I'll eat more fruit when my contest diet's over.
