Definately, I'm glad I learnt this Smiley Seems like every week that passes new lessons are learned.
For one to progress this learning will be ongoing throughout your BBing life or you'll just stagnate and either quit or you'll turn into one of those annoying gym users that never progress but are always there and in the way.

After some serious slacking with the journal, I'm back Cheesy

24/04/07

Back
Close Grip Pull Ups
4 x To Failure

Wide grip pull downs
1 x 12 @ 66lbs
1 x 12 @ 88lbs
1 x 12 @ 99lbs
1 x 10 @ 110lbs
1 x 12 @ 99lbs

Bent Rows
1 x 10 @ 101lbs
1 x 10 @ 123lbs
1 x 10 @ 145lbs
1 x 8 @ 167lbs
1 x 8 @ 189lbs

T-Bars
1 x 10 @ 123lbs
1 x 10 @ 145lbs
1 x 10 @ 167lbs
1 x 8 @ 189lbs
1 x 7 @ 211lbs

Dropped the reps by 2-3 as I wanted to get a little more strength in my back for now, and it seems to be working, I believe that's my best bent rows and t-bars this week Smiley

Wasn't at home so worked out at a mates but found the racks too low to squat, it would have meant I would have been bent over to pick the bar up so stuck to the leg press.

Lol I hope so! I wanted to hit deads hard and heavy but I'm keeping it to once every two weeks so that for one week out of the two it's pure concetration on some nice pull ups pull downs heavy rows and t-bars for me. Feels like it's bringing my back up to scratch better this way Smiley

Back in my PLing days I would only dead once every 10 days as this seemed to be optimum for strength, but 2 weeks may even be better for muscle growth as well as strength. For a guy so new to the sport you are making some very wise moves in your training...good work.

Thanks p.s. I'm trying to learn all I can and make the wisest choices straight from the word go.

A little late but I'll add some entries from memory. They may not be perfect.

08/05/07

Chest
Flat DB Bench
2 x 15 @ 33lbs
1 x 12 @ 44lbs
1 x 12 @ 55lbs
1 x 12 @ 66lbs
1 x 8 @ 77lbs
1 x 3 @ 88lbs (A little heavy I believe, but only just!)

Incline DB Bench
1 x 12 @ 44lbs
1 x 12 @ 55lbs
1 x 12 @ 66lbs

DB Flies
2 x 12 @ 44lbs

Too little?

09/05/07

Shoulders
Rear Raises
4 x 12 @ 44lbs

Side Lat Raises
4 x 12 @ 22lbs

Military Press
1 x 12 @ 57lbs
3 x 12 @ 79lbs

The weights in this workout were very light but I was just concentrating on the contraction and for some reason my shoulders were just very tired anyway. So I was annoyed with the weights but the pump was amazing and my Shoulders felt real tired afterwards.
