When I was a younger lifter just starting with my power rack, I stayed in the 6-8 rep range which worked ok for strength, every two strength workouts I would increase the weight by 5lbs on the barbell. Right now I am using dumbbells for alot since bilateral movements are hardly used in boxing and sometimes its easier to nail out one last rep using a dumbbell when using a barbell, I couldnt, but then again, I use less weight on the dumbbells, for the military press where I would use 190lb barbell, I use 80lb dumbbells.

Today I lifted with Anthony usind SCT for delts, and it was painfull in a bad way. I am never letting him suggest any lifting methods to me ever. I can't argue witht he results though, my delts inflated like balloons from doing them in half the time of my regular lifting, but full range provides better results, just takes more time and focus.

It's good Johnny to throw something different at a body part every now and then, as it keeps the body "off balance" so to speak, as well as it gives the mind a break.

They SCT felt painful on the shoulder joint and when an exercise hurts my shoulders I avoid it so I don't do permanent damage. Same with the upright rows, they hurt my shoulder so I do side laterals instead.

You may find upright rows are ok if you use dumbbells instead, and only pull the weight up as high your lower/mid pec.

I will try that next time then. I dont think i should lift today, I was going to do legs but I have an infection in my ear and throat, and I need to take some type of penacillin and get alot of rest.

I did delts and forearms today
bent over laterals 5x12 incline bench laterals 5x12 db shoulder press 5x8
I dont seem to be gaining any mass though, and I have been doing my exercises with strict form and have been lifting slowly, 2 up, 1 second pause and 4 seconds down. I must be a very hardgainer! To get new growth for next time I might do something like this
bent over laterals 3 drop sets with 3 weight drops 6-8 reps incline bench laterals 3 drop sets with 3 weight drops 6-8 reps and then db press 5x8
