Agreed, I've enjoyed reading your journal JC, even if I've been a little slack with replies myself. Get your act together and start posting!

Sorry about the long period of non-posting, I got really tied up in writing down my strength and mass gains on paper and plus the HSPA (High School Proficiency Assesment) testing is going on at School, and I have been frying my body and mind studying for the test and improving my strength. Interestingly though, I seem to loose strength in the 3-5 rep range, my best increases for the bench press, incline press, and squats have been made when lifting in the 6-8 range. My work is productive though, once i am able to press out 8 reps on the lift I add 5 pounds and am able to press 6 reps without going to failure. Mass gains have been good too all around, I still do bodybuilding techniques for some groups like biceps, forearms, delts, traps, and calves and I am happy with their growth. My girlfriend, and some of my friends even said they noticed my shoulders getting wider and looking stronger. I will post my strength and mass gains for next time I lift (Wednesday), right now I am getting ready to go study for the Math section of the HSPA.

To the two above, I LOVE the feeling when people notice or point out things. One of my ex-missus was giving me a back massage a few weeks back (i know, how great is that, ex-missus and i STILL get a massage etc) and comented saying "when the hell did your back get this much bigger" and it made me feel damn good. I get it with my arms (nothing huge about 16" but as i weigh 170lbs they look decent) a lot.
Only negative comment I've had about lifting is "you spend way too much time doing that" and that's followed by me getting a new missus until an understand one arrives.

BEEF you'll need to start dating gals from the gym or are at least athletic in some way shape or form. Otherwise a GF will always be at ya about your lifestyle.

Alot of people say that I spend too much time lifting. Today I did pretty good, I was able press 215 on the close grip bench which was 5 higher then last time. Same with the military press, I added 5 pounds. Squatting, as expected, I was able to do more then last time, which isnt very much anyway.
Just one thing, where my rear delts and upper back meet, that area seems to be lacking, giving me a rounded shoulders look which makes my posture look poor, anyone know an exercise to help add meat to that problem area?

lol! Well the last one was a dancer competing in tournaments around the country, but didn't like the amount of time I spent in the gym, the one before that used to be a cross-country runner and I think she understood it all (or so she says haha). By the looks of it I'll be getting together with this other gal and she loves it. Loves the look, the idea, the effort. all of it. This could be fun.

Would lying one handed rear deltoid raises (laterals) or lying rear deltoid rows work better to add mass to my rear delt area?

Possibly but IMO no matter what exercise you do for rear delts you should do it first in your delt routine if the rear delts are weak.

I had a good workout today. Very pleased with the strength gains. Heres what I did today-
5 Barbell Punches Per Hand/5 Barbell Clean and Presses/10 Burpees x 5 circuits
By the end of my 5th my heart was racing and I was sweating like I did an all out 30 minute sprint.
Then I went back and did some punching bag work-
3x3 minute Punch out Drills 3x30 second Power Boxing Rounds 3x3minute Punching Bag Rounds
Heres my plans for tomorrow-
A few minutes of Skipping Rope/Double Unders and I will try to get the hang of Crossovers 3x10 Russian Twists with a 35 lb plate on a decline bench 3x15 Situps with 70 lbs on a Decline Bench 20 Unweighted Situps on the PullUp bar 5x6 Squats Then I will have Nick come over to Spar 8x3 minute rounds

Insane day today. First a plane crashes a few miles away from my house, then tonight at about 11:30 I wake up and my neighbors (6 houses down) house is engulfed in flames and it started spreading to the woods behind it. It was huge. Such a scary thought and a taste of reality. Never thought something like that would happen so close to home! The guy left his spacing radiator on in his garage or something like that and his dog woke him up and he tried to put it out but couldnt. The tragic part was that there are no fire hydrants around! They had nothing to fight the raging fire with and their back was up against the ropes with time running out before the entire woods caught fire. Luckily no one was hurt, thank god. If his dog hadnt woken him up, I think it would be a very grim situation right now. They are still outside fighting it but the whole frame of the house is gone pretty much. New Jersey is such a wierd place.

I live in Howell twp. The fire was caused when the owners dog knocked over a space heater that he left on. The dog that knocked it over was killed in the fire unfortunately. I was over there helping the guy and his wife get things from the house for insurance because they are in their 50s or 60s. The whole backside of the house was gone except the frame pretty much and you wouldnt be able to tell they even had an attic over their garage.

Today was a good day. I couldnt hit the heavy bag since it fell from the ceiling when I hit it last time and now my ceiling is messed up. Hopefully I will find another place to put it. Might bring it out front and hang it from that big tree for a day since its been awhile since ive hit it. I did some isometric jabs and hooks today as well as some plyometrics.
